Afghan Mastiff Dog

The Afghan mastiff is a breed originating from ancient Afghanistan; the breed is used in dog fights to resolve disputes between the tribes of Afghanistan.

These dogs are considered intermediate points between the Turkish Afghan mastiffKangal and the majestic Tibetan mastiff. The possibility is even contemplated that breed has emerged from a cross between these two. Moreover, though the origin of the breed is located in Afghanistan, many dogs that cross borders are crossed with other breeds, leading to endless variations.

Use
The Afghan mastiff is extremely dangerous and must be held by certain men who specialize in the care and training of dogs for fighting.

When two Afghan tribes have a confrontation for any reason, each buys one of these dogs and puts them in a fight that almost always kills one of the contenders. In most cases, the winning dog kills his opponent, but if it does not, it is likely that the losing Afghan mastiff will be sacrificed.

This settles disputes between tribes without causing human bloodshed.

Features
As previously stated, the Afghan mastiffs are very dangerous animals, as they have strong muscles and powerful jaws. Furthermore, one does not often find among this breed of dogs one that has not been trained and selected according to its qualities to kill.

The fur of these animals is brindle, and they present high and curly tails. Due to the fact that all copies of the breed have a very similar coat, in the fights between the dogs, signs made with paint of different colors are placed on their tails
