Cairn Terrier Dog

The Cairn terrier originated from the Scottish Isle of Skye and is one of the oldest terriers of Scotland. It contributed to the creation of the Cairn TerrierScottish terrier and the West Highland white terrier, and was described as a short-haired Skye terrier. In 1910, the breed received the Kennel Club name Cairn Terrier (cairn being derived from Gaelic).

Description

The Cairn is a small terrier, about 28 to 31 cm in diameter and weighing 6 to 7.5 kilograms. The “double” coat is weather resistant; a lush, harsh but not wiry, outer coat with a dense undercoat. Its fur is in the colors of cream, wheaten, gray or almost black, with a dark brindle. From the age of eight, there are flashes of graying. The colors of pure black and white are not allowed. The ears are carried small, pointed, and upright.

Like many terrier breeds, this is an ideal family dog because it loves children
